Canvas, paper, wood panels, watercolor, and acrylic are all mediums commonly used by Connie King. She enjoys working on large-scale pieces with vibrant colors to express the intrinsic value she discovers in nature. Through 17 years of practicing qigong, she has learned the principle of “focus on effort, not on success,” and she applies it earnestly in her artistic life.
Connie King loves to paint with bold brushstrokes and vivid, concrete imagery to express abstract ideas. She is inspired by her experiences and the new insights she gains while travelling, and she believes it is important to look beyond her own limited perspective to other cultures and environments. Her images become much larger and brighter as she discovers and conveys the overwhelming power of the natural world.
